Canadian Permanent Residency in only 6 to 12 months for Skilled Workers
All Federal Skilled Worker applications received on or after February 27, 2008 will now be assessed for eligibility according to a new regime as mandated by Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Kenney.
The new instructions created Three (3) revamped streams for FSW applications to be processed according to the following criteria:
• have an offer of "arranged employment" from a Canadian employer (i.e. approved by HRSDC), or
• be a foreign national living legally in Canada for 1 year as a temporary foreign worker or an international student,
• OR
• Be a skilled worker who has at least 1 year of experience within the past 10 years in one or more of 38 designated occupations.

Head Nurses and Supervisors

Assuming your application meets 1 of the above 3 criteria, the Applicant will then need to garner at least 67 points on the assessment scale.
Points are awarded to the applicants on the basis of the following factors:
• Education (maximum 25 points)
• Proficiency in English and/or French (maximum 24 points)
• Work Experience (maximum 21 points)
• Age (maximum 10 points)
• Arranged Employment (maximum 10 points) Adaptability (maximum 10 points)
The Minister has instructed that for those applications that meet the above thresholds [1 of 3 FSW scenarios above and have 67 points] that they should be processed within 6-12 months!
